As part of your membership, Edinburgh Leisure offer free 1:1 sessions with our fully qualified Gym Instructors.

We offer Gym Introductions for those who are new to Edinburgh Leisure, or want to create a new fitness programme, and Gym Reviews for those who want to progress or refresh their existing plans and routines.

During introduction sessions, the instructor will complete a health questionnaire with you where you will:

  • Discuss your Health and Physical Activity Goals
  • Discuss your previous exercise history
  • Identify any exercises you particularly like or dislike
  • Identify any barriers you may have to becoming Physically Active

Your instructor will then guide you through a programme of exercises, specifically designed for you, and discuss the best way for you to achieve your goals.

Throughout the process you will have the full support of the gym team and the opportunity to develop your initial programme at any time.

Further review sessions can be booked at intervals to track your progress and help guide you on your journey to achieving your health & fitness goals. 



Our instructor-led Gym Introduction and Review sessions are pre-book only and you can book online or via 'Gym Instructor Bookings' on our mobile app.
